Skutt Student Center Artwork Mission Statement
"Art is essential to create an aesthetic educational environment to support the Skutt Student Center's role as a recreational area, meeting location and event setting. The Skutt Student Center's artwork, gallery and poetry slams provide the Creighton University community with opportunities to appreciate and understand creative expression. The Skutt Student Center seeks to maintain and enhance its current collection of artwork, to exhibit the work of the university community and provide performance opportunities for creative writers."
Suheil Baddor: Syrian Artist, Aug 24th- Sept 21st, 2007
Suheil Baddor has created over five thousand works of art during his professional career. His paintings and sculptures have been featured in dozens of solo and group exhibitions, including four times in the Sharjah Biennial and every year since 1985 in the annual Syrian professional artist exhibition. His sculptures in wood, bronze, granite and marble have been internationally recognized and his works are now in collections throughout Europe, Australia, and the Middle East. The Skutt Student Center now has the pleasure to host his artwork from Aug 24th-Sept 25th, 2007.
