Meal Plan Options

Students may change or add a meal plan selection via the NEST (Student Self Service) web page. The last day for any changes to the Fall 2009 meal plan will be September 1, 2009.

Meal Plans are valid for the undergraduate semester which they are purchased. No credit, refund, or carry over into another semester is permitted. Allowances are not made for any unused meals or bonus dollars.

The following resource lists options for meal plans for students, faculty and staff.  Additional information is also provided regarding some of the advantages to having a meal plan on campus!

Meal Plan Options for the Undergraduate Year 2009-2010:

  • 19 Meal Plan: 19 meals per week plus $40 bonus dollars*
  • 15 Meal Plan: 15 meals per week plus $100 bonus dollars*
  • 12 Meal Plan: 12 meals per week plus $160 bonus dollars*
  • Super Flex Plan: 120 meals per semester plus $200 bonus dollars*
  • Flex Plan: 60 meals per semester plus $200 bonus dollars*

Residents of Deglman, Gallagher, Kiewit, Swanson and McGloin Halls must purchase either a 19, 15 or 12 meal plan. Residents of Kenefick must purchase a Superflex or larger plan. Residents of Opus, Davis and Heider are not required to have a meal plan but may purchase any of the plans listed.  Click here for meal plan rate information

Jay Bucks are available (debit card system) through the University's Card Services, http://www2.creighton.edu/adminfinance/cardservices/.

 

Commuter, Faculty & Staff Meal Plan Options: 

Commuter students, Faculty, and Staff may purchase a Super Flex or Flex meal plan.  Bonus dollars are an available credit added to your meal plan. This credit may be used in most of the retail food facilities and dining halls on campus allowing you greater dining flexibility. Bonus dollars are available on a semester basis only and, if unused, will not carry over to the following semester.

Using Your I.D.

Your I.D. card is for your personal use. Do not allow others to use it. If someone else is discovered possessing your card it will be confiscated. This policy is for your protection against unauthorized use.

Our "Seconds Policy"

There is an unlimited seconds policy, except once a month on premium nights. Please take what you want, but eat what you take. Food items must be consumed in the dining room. In addition to dining hall meals, you can use your meal plan in the student center to enjoy these meal options.

Meal Exchange

You may "exchange" a meal for a value of $5.40 in the following retail outlets Monday through Friday: Jack & Ed's, Wareham Court, Brew Jay, Java Jay, or Davis Diner and Sunday at Java Jay. Your meal will be counted as indicated below:

Monday-Friday

  3:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. (replaces dinner meal)

Weekends: Sunday  

  3:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. (replaces dinner meal)

 * No Meal Exchange Available on Saturday

"Late Night Meal Exchange" is a value of $3.10 at Jack & Ed's, Java Jay and Davis Diner

Monday-Thursday

 10:30 p.m. - 12:00 a.m.

Special Services

If you have any special dietary instructions, please inform the Food Services Office. We can work with you and, if necessary, a dietician to insure that you have adequate dining options. We also offer "Grab and Go" meals for students having difficulty finding time to eat during dining hall hours and sick trays for students who are unable to attend the dining facility. Contact the Food Service Office to make arrangements.
