About the College of Professional Studies

The College of Professional Studies focuses on the education needs of the busy adult learner

  • The College of Professional Studies (CPS) provides on-campus and online undergraduate degrees, certificates and noncredit programs
  • Undergraduate degrees offered include online Bachelor’s in Leadership (BILS), Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Healthy Lifestyle Management (HLM)
  • CPS accepts up to 80 hours of prior learning, including transfer credits from other accredited institutions, credit by examination and credit for professional certification, including military service

Our students represent a variety of interests and backgrounds

  • For 2018-2019, there were more than 170 students enrolled in the College of Professional Studies
  • Creighton adult students range in age from the 20s into the 70s and are an equal balance of women and men
  • In 2018-2019, 51 bachelor’s degrees were awarded, as well as 1 associate degree and 6 certificates
  • 24 students were inducted into Creighton’s chapter of Alpha Sigma Lambda, the national honor society for full- and part-time adult students
  • The Emergency Medical Services (EMS) program draws students from across the nation and around the world

Students design educational plans to fit individual experience and goals

  • CPS 200 is a course that eases the re-entry into college. For most students this introductory course is paid through the CPS 200 Student Success Scholarship
  • In CPS 400: What really matters: Discernment, Consciousness, Compassion, students consider how the Jesuit charisms apply to their lives, including faith, family, work and service to others

Our educational programs are recognized, specialized and in demand

  • Creighton’s online bachelor’s degree programs are ranked No. 33 nationally by U.S. News & World Report
