Academic 2020-2021: COVID-19 Response

Community Vaccine Clinics
Creighton University and its clinical health care partner, CHI Health, are serving as COVID-19 community vaccine clinics in partnership with the Douglas County Health Department.
Vaccinations are by APPOINTMENT ONLY. See the eligibility requirements and register through the Douglas County Health Department’s COVID-19 Vaccine Registration Site or by calling the health department’s information line at 402.444.3400.
Have You Received a COVID-19 Vaccine?
All students, faculty and staff should upload confirmation of COVID-19 vaccinations to the BirdHouse. For each dose of vaccine received, please record the date of your vaccination and upload a picture of your vaccination card. An instructional video on how to update your immunization records is available on the BirdHouse website.
On-Campus COVID-19 Testing Center
The testing center is now operating at its regularly scheduled hours: Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Learn more about surveillance and walk-in testing.
Report Symptoms through #CampusClear Self-Screening
All nonremote students, faculty and staff are required to complete a daily self-screening and report COVID-19 symptoms and exposure through the #CampusClear app or the #CampusClear web interface. Students who fail to complete their screening as required will receive a noncompliance warning.
If you are not cleared to access campus or are feeling ill, please stay home and complete the Coronavirus Response Intake Survey.
Temperature Check-In/Screening Stations
Creighton’s general-campus Temperature Check-In/Screening Stations are open at the following locations and hours. These stations will be discontinued starting Monday, Feb. 22.
- Hixson-Lied Science Building atrium; M-F, 7:30 a.m.-2 p.m.
- Skutt Student Center, ground-level information desk, 7 days a week, normal Skutt Student Center building hours
- Harper Center front desk, 7 days a week, normal Harper Center building hours

Students and Families
- The 2021 spring semester begins Jan. 27 for traditional undergraduate students. See the spring academic calendars.
- Students are required to take a COVID-19 test before beginning classes or moving into the residence halls. See details on the on-campus testing center.
- Classes will be offered in person, with hybrid, remote and online options under certain circumstances.
- Face coverings are required in all public spaces on campus, indoors and outdoors.
- Classrooms have been arranged for social distancing.
- Planning an event? All in-person gatherings, on and off campus, must be reviewed by the Events Review Task Group and approved by the COVID-19 Strategy and Implementation Team.
- Requests for visitors, including parents, to access campus must follow this process.
- The Office of Academic Success and the Office of Disability Services are assisting students with tutoring, academic coaching, test accommodations and more.

Faculty and Staff
- Employees will continue in their current classifications, unless otherwise notified: “on premises,” “reduced on premises” or “remote.”
- Requests for COVID-19-related supplies and PPE must be made through school, college and department facilitators.
- Cleaning and sanitizing workspaces is everyone’s responsibility.
- Requests for remote workers and visitors, vendors and contractors to access campus must follow this process.
- Planning an event? All in-person gatherings, on and off campus, must be reviewed by the Events Review Task Group and approved by the COVID-19 Strategy and Implementation Team.

Screening Program
- Daily screenings are required.

- Campus housing, dining and recreation services have resumed spring semester operations. Please visit the Working and Living on Campus page for more information about these services.

If You Get Sick
- Stay home if you are sick.
- Creighton will provide quarantine and isolation for students living on campus.
- If you are experiencing symptoms and think you have been exposed, you must contact the Student Health Education and Compliance by completing the Coronavirus Response Intake Survey.
