Update from Student Counseling Services: March 26, 2020
Student Counseling Services (SCS) now has telehealth sessions established for individual counseling and psychiatric appointments for current students receiving services.
We continue to contact these students to schedule appointments and refer support when necessary. Please be aware, there are some licensing restrictions that may prevent us from providing counseling and medication management services in various states. Providers are working with students affected by these restrictions to help them find care at home.
Continue to monitor your email for communication from your provider and respond in a timely fashion. As we continue to work on some phone technology, you may see phone calls come from us as “No Caller ID” or other restricted message. We will leave a message and instructions on how to get ahold of us.
New inquiries: Please call us at 402.280.2735 to arrange a phone consultation with one of our providers. We will work with you find the best course of action, whether it be with us or a resource close to home. Please be aware that state licensing regulations may prohibit us from providing the care ourselves. Also note, new psychiatric appointments will be limited to students currently residing in Nebraska and Iowa. Students in other states with psychiatric needs should speak with their primary care physician or other local resources.
Crisis Appointments: Student Counseling Services continues to be available for crisis appointments or consultation discussions either by phone or Zoom. Students, faculty and staff should call 402.280.2735. We hope to be able to offer group sessions through telehealth as needs arise. Please let us know if we can be of assistance in other ways.
Thank you for your patience as we continue to explore this new service delivery. Your well-being, safety and confidentiality remain our highest priority.
