President’s Video Update: Public Safety Serves Campus

Dear Creighton Community,

During the COVID-19 pandemic, our dedicated Public Safety personnel have watchfully patrolled campus – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week – to ensure we maintain a friendly and safe environment. As we move toward reopening campus for the fall term in August, they will continue to play a critical role in keeping our campus safe. Please watch the video.

June 9, 2020 Bluejay Pack and Move

With the close of our semester in May, our staff members in Student Life have worked diligently and impressively to connect with students who were living in our residence halls and offer them various move-out options that are both safe – compliant with COVID-19 guidelines – and convenient. Students continue to return to campus to collect their belongings through the Bluejay Pack and Move Program.

Sincerely,

April 17, 2020 Message from the President

Dear Creighton Community,

Now that we have navigated four weeks of a full complement of online classes and shifted to remote working arrangements and virtual connections, I want to take a few moments to check in with you.

While the pandemic has altered daily life so dramatically, I would like to let you know how impressed and grateful I am in regards to the many and creative ways our faculty, staff, and students have adjusted to these unprecedented and challenging times.

As we continue discerning the effect of the coronavirus upon the world and the nation, we are also looking closely at the impact upon the University, knowing that a return to a former normal will not be immediate or easy.

As always, you remain in my prayers, and I will be in touch again soon. Please watch the video.

Sincerely,

Rev. Daniel S. Hendrickson, SJ, PhD

April 9, 2020 An Easter Message from the President

Dear Creighton Community,

Today, as Christians worldwide celebrate the beginning of the Easter Triduum, with Holy Thursday, I join in unity with them, and with those of other faith communities and those of no particular religious tradition, in praying for healing in our world.

During this unprecedented time in recent history, with uncertainty, sickness, and suffering, let us be a human community of mercy and compassion. For Christians, Easter is a time of renewal and hope; let us share that broadly in our prayers and actions.

In my Easter message today, I invite you to join us for a new video series in which Creighton Jesuits will share the universal wisdom, practicality, and practice of Ignatian spirituality. I hope you will find these 60-second messages both encouraging and insightful.

Also on our website, you will find times for virtual Masses this week and beyond, as well as other opportunities for connection, both spiritual and temporal. You also can connect with Jesuit and lay professional spiritual directors and companions who are available for spiritual guidance.

During this challenging time, I am, indeed, grateful for your prayers and messages of support, and remain ever hopeful and eager for the day I can welcome all students, faculty, staff, and visitors back to our beautiful campus. Until then, please know that you are on my mind and in my heart.

May you and your families have a blessed Easter, and please enjoy this video message.

In Christ,
Rev. Daniel S. Hendrickson, SJ, PhD
Creighton University President

March 24, 2020 Blessings from the Jesuit Gardens

Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff,

Please know that, in my own heart, I hold our extended Creighton community especially close during these trying days, as I share this video.

Sincerely,
