East-West Studies Students Present at MPSA Conference (April 4, 2014)

Creighton University East-West Studies graduate students Davis Florick and Scott Jordan, along with their advisor Maorong Jiang, Ph.D., traveled to Chicago, April 4, 2014, to attend the Midwest Political Science Associationís (MPSA) 72nd Annual Conference.

Students and faculty from across the country attend this prestigious conference in order to exchange research and study topics for peer review and progression of ideas.

Mr. Florick presented his paper "Post-Qing Dynasty Missed Sino-US Cooperative Opportunities." The group also engaged in discussion of such topics as Taiwan-China relations, Taiwan-Japan relations, the Senkaku Islands dispute, and general questions on Asian politics.

While in Chicago, the group also visited East-West University, where academic opportunities exist for cooperation with Creighton Universityís Master of Arts in East-West Studies program.
