The placement exam is intended for all students who wish to continue their study of French, German, or Spanish at Creighton University after completing at least one year in high school.
The placement exam is completed online. Based on the exam results, the placement recommendation will be for a 111 to 300 level foreign language course. The results of the exam will be emailed to your Creighton email address. Start by reading these instructions.
If you want to take the competency exam to test out of the Magis Core Foreign Language requirement, it can be taken in French, German, or Spanish. This exam is intended for students who have substantial background in the language. Please note that this exam does not give a student course credits; but rather, it exempts them from the Magis Core Foreign Language requirement. The exam must be taken in person. Contact the Modern Languages Department to schedule a time.
For incoming students attending Summer Preview, it is possible to take the competency exam while on campus. Staff will be available Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Hitchcock Building, first floor. Contact the Modern Languages Department for more information.
