End of Course Surveys

In order to provide a common set of quality assurance data points for all distance courses at Creighton University, a set of six items for end of course student surveys are used. The set of six survey items includes four Likert scale items and two open ended items. Distance programs or courses will continue to use the end of course student survey instrument selected by the academic unit offering the course of program. The set of six items will be added to the survey instrument currently used by the online program or course.

2.   I received timely and meaningful feedback on my progress in the course from the instructor.
3.   The online interactions with the other students and instructor helped me to feel a part of a community of learners.

Reponses to items 5-6 are open ended text responses.

6.   What elements of the online course content and course environment did you find detracted from achieving the course learning objectives?

Suggestion for survey item to collect data about the University’s values:
Please comment on the degree to which Creighton’s core values of service to others, the inalienable worth of each individual, and appreciation of ethnic and cultural diversity were exemplified during the course.

  • Department chair, program director or other administrator responsible for reviewing end of course student survey data:
    • reviews results of six standard survey items for each instructor and provides developmental resources for instructors as needed
    • Annually reports program wide aggregate data using the reporting form provided by the Teaching and Learning Center (TLC).
  • Data is reported by CAI in its Annual Assessment Report to the University.
