The following technologies are available to Creighton University faculty for use in on-ground, online, and blended courses. The TLC instructional design team is available to assist with technology selection, learning to use the technologies, and exploration of new technologies.
The University’s learning management system provides tools for creating and sharing online learning resources, submitting and grading assignments, faculty and student collaboration, and more. Faculty can create and share course content, grade assignments, as well as share and communicate with students. Students can engage in discussions, upload course assignments, and even take online exams. Departments, staff members, and campus groups can use BlueLine to share documents, collaborate on projects and even hold meetings without ever leaving the office.

Web conferencing for faculty and students provides audio, video, whiteboard, screen sharing, recording capabilities, and more allowing faculty and students to meet in real time, online. WebEx, a Cisco product, is current BlueCafe vendor.
The University’s lecture capture system provides the option to record lectures and make them available through BlueLine. The BlueCast lecture capture system includes the option to record video and audio in the classroom, as well as the computer desktop and any lecture presentation.

Creating surveys and analyzing results can be done with ease in this completely web-based application. Faculty and staff members with a netID will have individual access to BlueQ, powered by Qualtrics.
- Go to https://blueq.qualtrics.com/
- On the login page, enter your netid and blue password and click Login
- A first time login screen will display; click the "I don't have a Qualtrics account" button
- A "Terms of Service" screen deisplays; click the "I accept" button

An online, live proctoring of exams for students enrolled in distance courses. Examity's platform will enable students to take assessments whenever it is convenient for them, wherever they are. Examity's tech support allows students to get help over the phone through email or live chat. Students are required to have a minimum continuous connection of 3 Mbps upload and download speed or higher for simultaneous screen sharing, video and audio conferencing, and are charged a fee for each exam. Programs or departments may choose to absorb the proctoring fee. Contact the TLC for additional information.
An end-to-end assessment management solution that enables programs to efficiently create, deliver, analyze, and manage exams. ExamSoft SofTest is used for high-stakes assessments using the student's computer. All users are required to use the most recent version of SofTest to assure an optimal exam environment. The use of ExamSoft requires the purchase of per-student licenses. Contact the TLC for additional information.
Respondus Lockdown Browser
A custom, secure browser for taking quizzes in BlueLine. It prevents students from printing, copying, going to another URL, or accessing other applications during an assessment. If a BlueLine quiz requires that Respondus LockDown Browser be used, students will not be able to take the quiz with a standard web browser. Contact the TLC for additional information.
TurnItIn is a plagiarism prevention service offered in BlueLine. Papers written by students are submitted to TurnItIn, which checks the documents for unoriginal content. The results can be used to identify similarities to existing sources or can be used in formative assessment to help students learn how to avoid plagiarism and improve their writing.
