Center for Academic Innovation Fellowships

The Center for Academic Innovation (CAI) Fellowships are part-time, one or two year appointments and start July 1 of each year.  Stipends for fellows are either provided directly to the faculty member or to the faculty member’s department to cover teaching responsibilities.  The Center for Academic Innovation Fellow activities include creating and facilitating a variety of professional development activities for the puposes of developoing faculty in contemporary uses of technology for teaching and learning.

Bob Whipple, Ph.D.

Professor of English and Chair of the English Department

Dr. Whipple is the inaugural Teaching & Technology Innovations Fellow in CAI. Dr. Whipple will serve a 2 year term, July 1, 2014-June 30, 2016. In this role he will research mission-focused innovations for teaching with technology at US Jesuit universities, and generate a structure and process for encouraging exploration of pedagogical innovation supported by technology. In this work, Dr. Whipple is leading an important aspect of the University's strategic plan to increase innovation in the use of technology to advance student learning.
