Creighton Edge Smarthinking tutorial site

College of Professional Studies and Online Graduate Programs

The Creighton EDGE|Academic Success has partnered with Smarthinking Online Tutoring to provide tutoring services for online and distance students. Students can connect on demand with an expert tutor for a drop-in session 24 hours a day, schedule an appointment in advance, submit writing for detailed review, or ask a question offline. This is an unlimited resource, so please use it!

The Smarthinking website is user-friendly and easy to navigate. Students simply click on the box to open a center and follow the instructions to submit their writing, start a live drop-in session, or ask a question. Your students will have access to the following resources:

Writing Center: Students submit writing (in any course!) for detailed review by a Smarthinking tutor. The tutor’s feedback will arrive in the student's Smarthinking Personal Archive within 24 hours. If your students have general questions about grammar, style (APA or MLA), organization, etc., or would like guidance with pre-writing activities such as brainstorming, outlining, or thesis development, he/she may choose Writing (All Subjects) in Drop In Tutoring.

Drop In Tutoring: Students may work 1:1 with a live tutor in a variety of subjects including chemistry, biology, statistics, calculus, and Spanish. The complete list of subjects is available on the Smarthinking homepage.

Offline Questions: Student's may submit a question in any subject at any time and receive a response within 24 hours. More detailed instructions about each of these resources are available in the FAQs located near the bottom of the Smarthinking homepage. Your students can also download the Smarthinking Student Handbook located in the Files section of the Group: Online Tutoring homepage.

All College of Professional Studies and Online Graduate Programs' students are automatically enrolled in the Group: Online Tutoring for access to Smarthinking. The following pdf will provide more information for your students:Smarthinking Student Instructions
