Do guests need a ticket? Where should they sit?

Tickets are not required for any commencement ceremony at the CenturyLink Center Omaha. Please note: tickets may be required for individual school or college hooding ceremonies. Please contact the school or college directly for more information.

For the 9:30 a.m. ceremony doors will open at 8:30 a.m.
For the 1 p.m. ceremony doors will open at 12:00 p.m.

Guests are welcome to sit in any non-reserved seat on a first-come basis. Limited ADA seating is available in sections 102, 105, 109, 113, 118, 121, 125, 128, 204, 205, 208, 218, 221, 222, 224.

All commencement-related activities are held in accessible facilities with accessible parking. Commencement is a family event with many family members attending. Due to the large number of guests who need accommodations, guests who need wheelchairs are strongly encouraged to bring their own or to rent them. Wheelchairs can be rented from Kohll’s Pharmacy at kohlls.com/home/contact or 877.408.1990. Please reserve by Monday, May 8.

PLEASE NOTE we do not reserve seating for guests using wheelchairs at CenturyLink Center and the best drop-off point is the 10th Street curb cut out. There are many ADA areas in the Arena. Space permitting, one person may be seated next to each guest using a wheelchair in the areas that accommodate wheelchairs. Guests may park in any campus lot Friday and Saturday, May 12 and 13, 2017. Campus parking maps are available at creighton.edu/maps. Parking lots around the stadium may have limited availability and a fee due to the state soccer tournament.

Commencement parking at CenturyLink Center Omaha is available on the streets and in nearby lots and garages. More information regarding parking lots can be found on the CenturyLink Center Omaha Parking & Hotel Map.

Shuttles will run between McGloin Parking Lot and the CenturyLink Center between 8:15 a.m. and 4:00pm on Saturday, May 13th. The McGloin Parking lot can be accessed on the north side of the 24th street parking garage; enter the lot from Burt Street, just east of 24th street.

Lifetouch Special Events Photography will photograph each graduate receiving his or her diploma. Graduates will be emailed a link to their photo proofs or go to events.lifetouch.com/creighton for information. Questions may be addressed to specialevents@lifetouch.com or call 800.505.9496 (Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–6 p.m. EST) or online at events.lifetouch.com/about/contactus.aspx. Guests are not allowed on the floor to take photos.

Each ceremony will be broadcast live on Creighton’s website at creighton.edu/commencement and will be available for viewing after the ceremony.

How long will the ceremony last?

Both the 9:30 a.m. and the 1:00 p.m. ceremony are estimated to be about two hours in length. The actual time is dependent upon the number of graduates. Each graduate will walk across the stage to shake hands with the University President and receive their diploma cover. It is suggested post-ceremony plans be made for at least 2 ½ hours after the start of the ceremony.

Students are seated on the floor in front of the stage by their school and college conferred degree. Students will cross the stage from the right to the left. A seating chart is available in each Commencement program.

What is the Baccalaureate Mass? Where is it located?

Baccalaureate Mass will be celebrated on the Creighton University Campus in the Kiewit Fitness Center on Friday, May 12th at 1:00 p.m. All graduates and their guests as well as campus faculty and staff are invited to attend. The graduates do not process in; caps and gowns are not worn.
