    Election Rules Meetings

    Students interested in running or applying for a position within CSU for the 2019 year are required to attend one Elections Rules Meeting to learn about the expectations and rules associated with running/applying for a position. These sessions are schedule for the following dates:

      VP Applications now available!

      Applications for Vice President for Finance, Vice President for Programming, and Assistant Vice President for Programming are now available on CSU's CU Involved page under forms. 

      Applications are due by Friday, November 9th at 4:30 pm. Be sure to stop by the Student Leadership & Involvement Center to sign up for an interview time after you submit your application online.

      More about the positions:

      CSU President: The CSU President is responsible for the day to day operations of CSU including supervising three other students, meeting with University administrators, serving on University Committees, writing legislation that advocates for student needs, and serving as the primary voice of the student body. 

      CSU Executive Vice President: The CSU Executive Vice President serves as the liaison between University Committees and CSU, oversees two coordinator positions (Diversity and Inclusion Coordinator Marketing Coordinator), and oversees the Board of Representatives, and coordinates signature programs such as Jaywalk. 

      CSU VP of Finance: The CSU VP of Finance is responsible for managing a 3/4 of a million dollar budget as they allocate student fees back to students. Additionally this person is responsible for managing the audit process of the CSU finances and overseeing the Appropriations Committee which is responsible to allocating dollars to student clubs.

      CSU VP of Programming: The VP of Programming is responsible for managing a board of 9 student leaders, providing a variety of programs based on the Program Board mission, and coordinating university-wide efforts such as Homecoming and Senior Week. The VP of Programming is also responsible to creating and maintaining the Program Board budget and providing updates to CSU Cabinet on spending. 

      Appropriations Committee and Program Board Applications Available in Fall 2018!

      Applications for the Appropriations Committee and Program Board will be available online in the 2018 Fall semester starting November 1, 2018. Applications will be due:

      • Program Board: November 16, 2018
        • Interviews will be held November 18, 19, and 20
      • Appropriations Committee: November 21, 2018
        • Interviews will be held November 26, 27, and 28
        • A required training will be held on January 20, 2019

      Monday November 5, Skutt Fireplace starting at 8:00pm.

      Should you choose to run as either of these positions, be prepared to discuss the issues that are important to you. This will be a typical debate format with some audience Q&A as well.

       

      ELECTION DAY

      Tuesday November 6, 2018

      Polls Open from 7:00 am - 7:00 pm

      The CSU State of the Student will be held at 8:00pm in the Skutt Fireplace. We will be voting on constitution change #18-01C.

      Rock the Vote! All students will receive a ballot in their Creighton email in order to cast their vote. The State of the Student Address will be at 8 pm at the Skutt Fireplace with election results to follow. Be sure to be there to find out if you are the future of CSU!
