Magis! Investigatio Research Award (MIRA)

The Magis! Investigatio Research Award (MIRA) has been established by the Center for Undergraduate Research and Scholarship (CURAS) to support and enhance the research and scholarly work of full-time faculty with undergraduate research students at Creighton University.

  • Payment of undergraduate research assistants1

1Undergraduate research assistants are to be paid hourly, in compliance with University policy. If a faculty member wishes to hire a student who has already graduated, the faculty member will be responsible for covering that student’s fringe benefits. Students who are current CURAS Summer Undergraduate Research Fellows may NOT also be hired as research assistants during the same summer.

2Open access publication charge requests will only be considered if the faculty member does not have access to alternative funding for publication charges.

Types of Requests NOT Funded

Funds cannot be used for faculty salary/stipends or to support conference travel.

Eligibility

Full-time faculty holding a Teaching-Research, Clinical-Educator, or Resident Faculty appointment (Research, Adjunct, Special, Visiting, Affiliate or Contributed-Service Faculty are not eligible).

Amount of Award

Up to $5,00

Application Materials

Proposals are due by 11:59 PM on Monday, March 13, 2023. The proposal should be uploaded and submitted as a single PDF file via the InfoEd online submission system at: Creighton.infoedglobal.com. Please note that proposals will be routed to departmental chairs for approval. Awards will be announced in April and funding will start on May 1, 2023. All funds must be expended by June 30, 2024.
