Biography

Originally from Colorado Springs, Colorodo, Michelle moved to Omaha in 2002 to attend Creighton where she studied exercise science.  She attended Creighton for physical therapy school and received her DPT in 2008.  She completed the residency in orthopedic physical therapy at Creighton in 2009 and received her orthopedic specialization in 2010.  She has 10 years of experience in outpatient orthopedics with a practice focused primarily on post operative rehabilitation and musculoskeletal disorders of the lower quarter. 
Michelle has a passion for dancing, especially ballet and she specializes in the physical therapy treatment of performing artists.  She is currently the physical therapist for American Midwest Ballet, the only professional dance company in the state, and have been working with the company since its inception as Ballet Nebraska in 2010.  Additionally, she provides onsite physical therapy coverage for traveling performance companies that tour in the Omaha area.  
Michelle started her career in academica in 2009 at Clarkson College, teaching in their physical therapists assistant program until 2016.  At Clarkson, she taught musculoskeletal content and therapeutic exercise, as well as functional anatomy.  At Creighton, her role includes acting as the lab coordinator for the first year of the curriculum as well as teaching Patient Management I and Differential Diagnosis.  Her scholarly agenda focuses on the teaching/learning of clinical reasoning as well as the physical therapy treatment of performing artists.
