Biography

Born in St. Paul Minn. and raised in Omaha, Neb., McNary attended Archbishop Rummel High School, which is now Roncalli Catholic High School. McNary attended Creighton for both his undergraduate and graduate studies. He earned a bachelor’s degree in finance, a master’s of business administration and juris doctorate degree from the Creighton University School of Law. While he was at Creighton, McNary was an adjunct professor at Buena Vista University. He also served as a guest professor at Creighton during his last semester of law school. After graduating from law school McNary practiced law in Omaha for three years before becoming a professor at Creighton in 1983. McNary serves as the College of Business’ pre-law advisor, where he counsels business students who are thinking of going into pre-law. McNary is also serves as moderator to the Pre-Law Society and helped found the Creighton University Mock Trial Students' Association. He has been involved with mock trial for over 25 years. The mock trial teams have won numerous awards under McNary including a top-10 finish at the American Mock Trial Association National Tournament in 2004. McNary has also served as the president of two business-related organizations. From 1995-1997 he served as president of the Midwest Academy of Legal Studies in Business and he is currently the treasurer for the organization. In 2002 he served as president of the MBAA International, which is comprised of 11 formal organizations that represent a variety of business disciplines.
