Biography

Dr. Furze is a Professor and the Interim Chair of the Department of Physical Therapy at Creighton University. She is the coordinator of the Creighton University Pediatric Physical Therapy Residency program. She teaches in the pediatric area of a systems- based lifespan approach model of the curriculum. Her published educational research centers around clinical reasoning in entry-level and residency education, effective teaching, and interprofessional education. She was a recent recipient of the Stanford Award for the most influential publication in the Journal of Physical Therapy Education. She is a leader in a number of APTA components including the ABPTS Pediatric Specialty Council and the Director of  Academic and Clinical Education of the Academy of Pediatric Physical Therapy. Dr. Furze received her entry-level doctor of physical therapy degree from Creighton University and her bachelor’s degree from the University of Scranton.
