Dr. Schoening joined the faculty at Creighton Universitiy College of Nursing in 2003. She is a member of both the Undergraduate and Graduate Faculty, specializing in obstetrics. Her primary research interests include mental health during pregnancy and the postpartum period, new faculty transition, and the scholarship of teaching and learning. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Dr. Schoening serves as Faculty Development Coordinator and Dedicated Education Unit Project Director for the College. She serves on the Editorial Board for the Journal of Perinatal and Neonatal Nursing and the Board of Directors for Hospice of Southwest Iowa. She is an active member and past Chair of the Nebraska Section of the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric, and Neonatal Nurses (AHWONN).
