Biography


Tim P. McMahon is an experienced marketing communications executive, He is an accomplished marketer and communicator having founded and managed an award-winning marketing services firm for more than a decade, and serving in top marcom job at a Fortune 100 company. He has led sustainable growth in large-scale multinationals and small businesses alike using effective strategy and cutting edge technology. He has published in the discipline of integrated communication in the highly acclaimed book Reputation Management (Routledge 2007; 2009; 2015) Published Vietnamese edition 2023. He authored Fostering Employee Buy-In Through Effective Leadership Commmunication (Routledge 2022) and is under contract for a peer-reviewed book titled Comparing Charismatic Leaders Communication Styles: a Study of Presidents Barack Obama and Donald J. Trump (Routledge - expected 2024). 

He is a lifelong learner and for more than a decade has focused on the challenges of higher education and learning as a consultant and practitioner. After a successful career as senior officer at Fortune 100 company and as founder of an award-winning marketing services firm, he returned to Seton Hall to earn a MA and moved on to Gonzaga University where he earned a PhD in leadership. He has taught at a variety of state and private institutions large and small both online and in classroom. He is an invited lecturer at two universities China in 2017 and 2018 and taught at St. Joseph's University Bangaluru, India in 2020.

Further, he has served in key leadership positions leading learning initiatives, advancing experiential learning, and serving as a senior officer in marketing and communication at a national financial services firm, at a state university during the transition of a new president, at a national aviation firm establishing a leadership program. He also coaches chief executives and senior marketing executives.
 
McMahon teaches at New York University. Additionally, he has taught at Seton Hall University (strategic communication), Elon University (public relations and strategic communication), St. Joseph's University Food Marketing Program, and in the Heider College of Business at Creighton University where he currently serves as associate professor of practice.
 
He is a sought-after consultant in business and higher education serving in developing trustworthy relationships with key constituencies, crisis management communication, brand-building, and organizational performance improvement, culture and leadership development.
