Meet Dr. Kelly Airey, a new cardiologist who has joined the Creighton Medical Associates team at the Creighton Cardiac Center. Board certified in both internal medicine and cardiovascular diseases, her specialty is electrophysiology. She will introduce an atrial fibrillation ablation and complex arrhythmia management program to the Cardiac Center. Dr. Airey is an assistant professor in the Creighton University School of Medicine. She practiced medicine for 10 years in Iowa and Canada before completing a fellowship in clinical cardiac electrophysiology at the University of Toronto in Canada. She completed an internal medicine internship and residency as well as a cardiovascular disease fellowship at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Help for Troubled Children
Dr. Vishal Madaan has joined Creighton Medical Associates as a child and adolescent psychiatrist at the Creighton University Psychiatry Clinic. He will serve as the clinic's director of child and adolescent psychopharmacology and as a School of Medicine instructor. Dr. Madaan's areas of expertise include attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder, childhood depression, pediatric bipolar disorder and childhood anxiety disorders. He earned his medical degree from the Government Medical College in Rohtak, India, and completed a residency in psychiatry at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences at MD University in Rohtak. In 2009, he completed a psychiatry residency and a child psychiatry fellowship with the Creighton University/University of Nebraska joint program, serving as chief fellow in child and adolescent psychiatry. Vaccine Study for Children
If you are a parent of a child 6 to 24 months of age, please call Creighton Pediatric Infectious Diseases about a clinical research study investigating an RSV and parainfluenza virus vaccine. Development of vaccines for the prevention of Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) disease is a public health priority. RSV, followed by the parainfluenza viruses, is an important cause of viral lower respiratory tract illness in infants and children worldwide. DVT/PE Research Study
Are you currently being treated for a recent blood clot in your upper leg or lungs (DVT or PE)? If so, you may qualify for a research study at Creighton University's Pulmonary and Critical Care Department. We are currently enrolling patients in a study for the long-term prevention of recurrent DVT/PE. The study period is 12 months with a total of five office visits.
