The primary purpose of the Space Survey is to gather information about space usage. This information is necessary to prepare the Facilities and Administrative (F & A) Cost Rate proposal as required by the Federal Government. - The survey is used to document the functional usage of space by room in academic units.
- Space usage is the basis for the allocation of certain costs in the proposal, such as, depreciation, operation and maintenance cost, and interest.
- Information will be collected using a revolving 2-year room by room schedule.
At Creighton this information is also used by the Budget department, Facilities Management, and Accounting Services for space analysis and planning.
Accounting Services now offers an online tutorial to help explain the Space Survey and Equipment Inventory Process. It is self-paced audio and visual presentation that takes about 15-20 minutes to complete.
