A New Tradition

Students Embark on Educational Pathway

Creighton welcomed about a 1,000 new students (freshmen and transfers) to campus in August, the fifth largest class in recent history. The total student population is 7,600 for Creighton's undergraduate, graduate and professional programs. The 2015 class is exceptionally bright, talented and committed to involvement in their schools and communities. In fact, their academic profile places Creighton among the top-10 private universities in the Midwest with more than 4,000 undergraduates.

A new tradition was added this year to Welcome Week activities for new students. The students, as well as academic and University leaders who were dressed in regalia, made a symbolic walk from St. Johnís Church, the spiritual heart of campus, down the campus mall walkway to the D.J. Sokol Arena to attend their formal academic introduction to Creighton. Watch the video.

Creighton students are not only bright, but they also possess a heartfelt desire to develop their gifts and use their abilities to serve others and help to make the world a better, more just place. There is warmth and a collegiality at Creighton that is very conducive to learning. Students find here the complete package ó an opportunity to grow as a whole person: academically, socially and spiritually. Students, parents, alumni and our donors sense that difference.

Assuring that deserving students have the opportunity to experience the Creighton difference is important. And with more than 90 percent of Creighton students receiving some form of financial aid, donors who provide scholarships or other gifts make an immediate impact on helping to see they come here.
