13th Annual Addressing Health Disparities Seminar:
The COVID-19 Pandemic and Community Response

The seminar is designed to bring community and academia together to eliminate health disparities in the Omaha community and Nebraska. This event is free and open to the public. Register now.

Purpose

The goal of the conference is to increase the knowledge, skills and ability of individuals in academia, health professionals and community members in addressing health disparities as it relates to COVID-19. This includes local, national and international public health responses, developing policies around COVID-19, education on COVID-19 signs and symptoms, vaccine education and advocating for support of those affected by the COVID-19 virus.

Objectives

At the end of this seminar, the participants should be able to:

  • Summarize key community statistics on COVID-19 in Douglas County, Nebraska
  • Explain effective community/organizational responses to the pandemic
  • Summarize key steps in reducing/eliminating the impact of the pandemic
  • Learn about the COVID-19 vaccines and vaccination plans
