Things To Know


  • All donations are voluntary and will be accepted from faculty, staff, students, alumni, and other friends of Creighton.
  • Donated funds may not be designated to a particular employee, division, school or college.


  • All full and part time staff and faculty working a minimum of 20 hours per week with at least 6 months of service to Creighton University, and who have not previously been awarded assistance through this fund, are eligible to apply for assistance.
  • The purpose of the award is not to cover the full costs of the event giving rise to the request, but to alleviate some of the burden on a short term basis.
  • This one-time award will not exceed $1,000 but is limited to available funds.


  • Each application will be examined on a case-by-case basis. Under unique circumstances, a second application may be submitted, but priority will be given to first time applicants.
  • The committee considering applications consists of the Director of Human Resources (or other HR designee), the Chair of the Benefits Committee, and a representative from Mission and Ministry.
  • All applications are confidential and will be shared only with individuals directly involved in award administration, processing and tax reporting.


  • Upon discussion and agreement with the applicant (or their representative), the fund assistance requested will be paid to the vendor needing payment or directly to the employee.
  • This one-time disbursement will be included as taxable income subject to applicable withholding. Upon discussion and agreement of timing, the disbursement will be processed by Payroll.
  • Awards do not require repayment by the applicant.
