An important part of the new semester each year is Founders Week, which this year is next week, Feb. 7-11. In addition to many great events that week, I especially want to invite you to be inspired by the first speaker in our Presidential Lecture Series, acclaimed Haitian American author Edwidge Danticat, on Feb. 9.

Creighton is committed to acting on our desire to become an anti-racist university, and this year’s lecture series will feature speakers who can help us in our work to attain our goal. This year’s speakers each bring unique perspectives and insights on racial injustice and ways to counteract it.

Today I share, along with Sarah Walker, PhD, vice president for the Division of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, thoughts on why the 2022 Presidential Lecture Series is especially relevant to Creighton’s goals. Please enjoy this video message below and mark your calendars for talks on Feb. 9, Feb. 23, March 1, and March 22.
