October 31, 2016: United Way Campaign
Dear Faculty and Staff,
I would like to invite you to participate in Creighton University’s 2016 United Way Campaign, which kicks off today (Monday, Oct. 31).
As a Jesuit, Catholic institution, we are led by a faith that does justice. Pope Francis has asked us to take action as a “culture of encounter” and encourages us to work for the betterment of our society and to help our most vulnerable citizens — the poor and marginalized. Supporting the United Way is an opportunity for us as a Creighton family to cultivate a culture of encounter in our community.
The United Way continues to build a stronger community by funding programs that help children be classroom-ready and young adults be workforce-ready, while maintaining support for programs that provide the most basic of needs — food, shelter, health, and safety. Creighton joins some 600 companies and organizations and 50,000 individual donors across the metro area in supporting the United Way.
As we kick off this year’s campaign, I encourage all of you to contribute. No gift is too small to impact the lives of those in need.
Please join me in showing the United Way and its partners the strength of our Creighton family.
Rev. Daniel S. Hendrickson, SJ
