Nov. 13, 2017: Strategic Plan Approval
Dear Faculty and Staff,
I write to you today to share good news regarding our journey together to forge a new Strategic Plan for the University.
During its regular meeting on Friday, Nov. 10, the Creighton Board of Trustees approved the plan in its entirety.
As you recall, our considerable efforts to involve the campus community in the new Strategic Plan first began in the fall of 2015. Then, your participation in the Area Examen in the spring of 2016 provided great insight about the past, present, and our shared hopes for the future of the University.
We formed planning committees, appointed Goal Stewards, and worked collectively to develop a plan that focuses on our strengths – both programs and people – that will thoughtfully guide us for several years. It was this meticulous work performed by many of you, as well as significant attendance and feedback at our campus town halls, that culminated in the Board’s approval of the plan.
Please remember that a few fall campus forums still are scheduled, and more detailed information regarding the forums, a link to RSVP, the plan itself, and other resources can be found at the strategic planning website. In addition, strategic planning co-chairs Dr. Mary Chase and Dr. Kristie Briggs will provide information this week regarding implementation of the plan and other next steps.
I am grateful to everyone who led us to this point in our history and look forward to watching the plan unfold as we enter the 140th anniversary year of Creighton University next year.
Rev. Daniel S. Hendrickson, SJ
