Presidential message

With significant gratitude for his leadership and service, I wanted to inform you that Evan T. Robinson, PhD, dean of the School of Pharmacy and Health Professions, will be stepping down from the deanship effective Dec. 31, 2021.

Since joining the University in 2019, Dr. Robinson has been an effective and collaborative administrator and leader who has advanced our School of Pharmacy and Health Professions and Creighton University.

I am personally grateful for Dr. Robinson’s thoughtful input as a member of my President’s Council, and I am thankful for his many contributions to a number of additional University committees.

Over the past year and a half, Dr. Robinson has worked collaboratively and widely to help guide the School of Pharmacy and Health Professions and Creighton in navigating the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.

He successfully leveraged the School of Pharmacy and Health Professions’ tradition of delivering innovative online and hybrid programming to quickly and effectively transition to a virtual learning environment, in collaboration with faculty and staff colleagues.

Our pharmacy, occupational therapy, and physical therapy students were the beneficiaries. Thanks to his leadership, and the creativity, flexibility, and commitment of our faculty, our professional students in these programs were able to stay on track and keep the best possible learning outcomes given the circumstances.

He also was instrumental in successful accreditation outcomes for our physical therapy and occupational therapy programs in Omaha and a positive accreditation visit for our physical therapy program in Phoenix. In addition, he has worked with colleagues to promote and advance Creighton’s Therapy and Wellness and Pediatric Therapy clinics in Omaha as well as the Creighton University Campus Pharmacy at CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center – University Campus.

As dean and a member of our Phoenix Health Sciences Steering Committee, Dr. Robinson has been significantly engaged in the establishment of our pharmacy and occupational therapy – and coming soon, physical therapy – programs at our new health sciences campus in Phoenix. We were excited to welcome our first cohorts of pharmacy and occupational therapy students this fall, and our physical therapy program will begin in August 2022.

Following a sabbatical in the spring semester, Dr. Robinson will resume his role as a tenured professor in the School of Pharmacy and Health Professions beginning in the summer of 2022.

I am grateful that Amy Wilson, PharmD, associate professor and senior associate dean for operations, will serve as interim dean as we begin a national search for a new dean for the School of Pharmacy and Health Professions imminently. Provost Wilson and I will share more details about the search committee and the search process as they become finalized.

Until then, please join me in thanking Dr. Robinson for his service as dean and commitment to Creighton University. We will look for opportunities to celebrate his accomplishments at a later date and hope to share those plans soon.

Sincerely,

Rev. Daniel S. Hendrickson, SJ, PhD
