April 13, 2017: HLC Visit Thanks and Easter Message

Creighton University President, the Rev. Daniel Hendrickson, SJ

Before I offer a message regarding the coming Easter weekend, I would like to again thank everyone who worked for months, and even years, preparing the campus community for the visit this week by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) Comprehensive Evaluation Team.

If you visited Creighton’s HLC website, it is very apparent why dozens of faculty and staff dedicated a considerable amount of time, above and beyond their normal duties, to compiling information regarding how we educate our students and operate the University.

In particular, Dean Gail Jensen, PhD, who also serves as Creighton’s accreditation liaison officer with the HLC, and Mary Ann Danielson, PhD, led the effort and guided the evaluation team around campus on Monday and Tuesday. Drs. Jensen and Danielson are also experienced HLC peer reviewers.

There are too many individuals to thank in this email, but I would like to acknowledge the faculty, staff, and students who worked together on several teams to prepare background materials, which is a testament to the organization required to accomplish this monumental task:

  • Executive Teams
  • Deans
  • Writing Team
  • Consulting Teams
  • CSU Executive Team
  • President’s Council

A report from the Higher Learning Commission will be issued at a later date, and the information will be shared with the campus community when it is available.

As many in our community prepare to celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus Christ this Easter, please view my brief message.

In Christ,

Rev. Daniel S. Hendrickson, SJ
