Feb. 4, 2019
I look forward to seeing many of you on Tuesday at the Founders Week Convocation, beginning at 3:30 p.m. in the Harper Center’s Hixson-Lied auditorium. Following my campus update, distinguished faculty, staff, and administrators will be recognized for their service to the University, and we will also celebrate the new Joella Cohen Endowed Chair in Journalism. All are invited to attend a reception in the ballroom immediately after Convocation.
I hope you can also attend the annual Interfaith Prayer Service in St. John’s Church on Wednesday, beginning at 3:30 p.m. The Division of Mission and Ministry has invited the campus community to come together to celebrate the common call of our faith traditions to work and pray for peace in our global family.
Finally, Project Homeless Connect Omaha will be held on Friday, March 29. This one-day event is dedicated to serving individuals experiencing homelessness and will once again be hosted on the Creighton campus, in the Kiewit Fitness Center, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
In previous years, Creighton faculty, staff, and students have been very generous in serving as volunteers, and I encourage your participation again this year. Learn more about Project Homeless Connect. You also may want to consider using the Volunteer Service Paid Time Off. You can learn more about that program.
