The Creighton community mourns the death of student Mohammad M. Al Nosif, who died in a tragic automobile accident in Kansas on Aug. 6.
Mohammad was a native of Saudi Arabia and arrived at Creighton in the fall of 2016 as part of the Bridge to Creighton program in the Intensive English Language Institute (IELI). He was a senior majoring in Emergency Medical Services and pursuing EMT certification.
Mohammad was an especially beloved member of the international student body on our campus and will be exceedingly missed. He welcomed, hosted, supported, cooked for, and drove many students around to help them feel welcomed and a part of the Creighton community. He was a co-leader of SPEAC (Students Practice English at Creighton), and served on the executive board of the International Student Association.
The International Student Association, in collaboration with the Global Engagement Office, the Creighton Intercultural Center, and Campus Ministry, is organizing a memorial event in the near future, and details will be communicated as they become available.
Please join all of us in the Creighton community in praying for Mohammad, his family, friends, and all who grieve his untimely death.
And please remember that staff in the Global Engagement Office, Student Counseling Services, and Campus Ministry are available for support during this difficult time.
