Dance (Minor)

Enhance your educational experience with a minor in dance at Creighton University. You could receive training in ballet coupled with exposure to other dance forms. While you’ll primarily learn ballet technique, you’ll also have the opportunity to study modern, jazz, tap, composition and performance.

With a minor in dance at Creighton, you will get to publicly perform a variety of dance styles each semester, as well as work with professional peer choreographers and instructors.

You’ll study in Creighton’s beautiful Lied Education Center for the Arts, which houses two performance spaces. The Mainstage is a beautiful 300-seat theater used for dance performances each semester. A large studio theater serves as an alternate performance space and seats approximately 100. The large dance studio features a professional sprung floor and mirrored walls, and most ballet classes have live piano accompaniment.

Curriculum

Admissions Requirements

A student may not declare a minor until he or she has been accepted into a major. Students declare minors with the minor declaration form.

Eighteen credits of coursework are required to complete a minor. Students must achieve a cumulative GPA of 2.00 in courses toward the minor.
