Law-Business Administration (BSBA/JD or BSBA/MBA/JD)
If you have a strong interest in business and also aspire to become an attorney, Creighton offers unique courses of study to give you expertise in both the law and business. These programs also get you out into the workforce more quickly.
A business background provides a great foundation for the study of law. A thorough knowledge of the principles and processes of an economic organization is essential to an understanding of legal principles. In addition, knowledge of accounting is very helpful in connection with tax work. With this program, you’ll enjoy a rich and well-rounded college and law school experience.
Triple Degree Program
You can earn your bachelor’s degree in business, MBA, and law degree all within a 7-year period. Creighton University is one of the few universities in the country offering this combined business–law program.
Qualified students who want to earn three degrees (BSBA, JD, and MBA) in just 7 years can do it by following the 3/3 program described below and in the fifth year enrolling in the MBA program.
3/3 Dual Degree Program
The 3/3 program allows you to earn an undergraduate business degree (BSBA) and a law degree (JD) in 6 years, rather than the usual 7. You’ll become a candidate for the undergraduate Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree following your first year of law school. In the 5th year, you can also choose to enroll in the Masters of Business Administration program.
Employment of lawyers is projected to grow 10% by 2022, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Because more students graduate from law school each year than there are jobs available, competition for positions is strong. Having three degrees and a strong background in the study of business greatly increases your value to organizations and your competitiveness as an applicant.

More than 90% of business students complete at least one internship during their college career. Internships are an excellent way to “sample” jobs that might become your career focus. Interns gain real world skills that strengthen their qualifications and give them a competitive edge when applying for full-time jobs later.
General Pre-legal Requirements
The School of Law will consider for admission applicants who have completed at least three-fourths of the college work required for the bachelor’s degree in the Heider College of Business (96 credits). There are no specific pre-legal subjects required; however, no more than 10% of the credits you present can be in non-theory courses such as basic military science, hygiene, domestic arts, physical education or similar courses.
In considering applicants for admission, consideration is given to the results of the Law School Admission Test (LSAT), the applicant’s college record and other pertinent information. Learn more about applying to Creighton School of Law.
