Creighton Student Receives Journalism Scholarship

Creighton University junior, Peter Freeze, has been named a 2011 TKN Scholarship winner by The Knowledge Network of Greater Omaha. The scholarship was awarded to three students in the Omaha area.

Freeze is a photojournalism and graphic design major from Phoenix, Ariz.

“Peter is a talented video photographer and a fine, well-rounded student who has participated in such things as our backpack journalism program,” said Eileen Wirth, Ph.D., professor and chair of Creighton’s journalism department. “He is especially valuable for the work he does promoting Creighton admissions. We are very proud of him.”

The scholarship is awarded to applicants who are current students who plan to major in media production and broadcasting and who maintain a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Scholarship winners receive $600 to continue their pursuit of a degree in media.

Creighton University is a Jesuit, Catholic university bridging health, law, business and the arts and sciences for a more just world.
