Mock Trial Team Places Second in First Live Competition

A Creighton University’s mock trial team placed second at the Northwest Missouri State University Bearcat Invitational Oct. 28 and 29. Another Creighton team placed 14th overall at the competition, which featured 30 teams. Individual students receiving awards at the competition included:

  • Freshmen Erin Rossiter, Spencer, Iowa and Samuel Koutsulis, Henderson, Nev., Best Witness Awards.
  • Senior Stephen Water, Omaha, Neb. and freshman Rachael Berry, St. Louis, Mo., Best Attorney Awards.
  • Senior Adam Hester, San Ramon, Calif. won both Attorney and Witness Awards.

The Creighton University Mock Trial Students' Association is an organization that promotes leadership, professionalism, outstanding academic achievement and high ethical standards for students, the university and the community through competitive mock trial as provided by the American Mock Trial Association. The organization allows students who are interested in courtroom procedure to express themselves creatively, develop leadership skills and prepare for a career in the legal field while enjoying opportunities for social interaction and bonding.
