Creighton Alum and Poet to Read from New Collection

Creighton alum and poet Ryan J. Browne will read selections from his newly published book, Outside Come In, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, in the Harper Center, room 3023A. Admission is free and open to the public.

Browne’s poems have appeared in journals such as Gulf Coast, Spoon River Poetry Review and the Colorado Review. Outside Come In was selected as the 2011 winner of the Bright Hill Press Poetry Award. His collection, according to Neil Shepard, “enters a world of violent experience and experiment, a world where language and sensibility are as edgy as the subject matter.”

After Browne earned his Bachelor of Arts in English from Creighton, he received his Master of Fine Arts in poetry from the University of Alabama where he taught poetry and literature in Alabama state prisons.

Creighton University is a Jesuit, Catholic university bridging health, law, business and the arts and sciences for a more just world.
