Local Student Wins First Place at Nebraska Singing Competition

Creighton University junior Chelsey Hill of Omaha, won first place at the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) Nebraska State Competition held Oct. 5, at Hastings College.

Hill, a music and musical theatre major was one of more than 225 singers from universities throughout Nebraska who competed in 11 divisions. Hill was named first place winner of the Division 7 Upper College Women. She presented an operatic aria, foreign language art song, and an American art song per competition regulations.

Hill has won first place in her division each year she has competed at the state level.

She will compete in the Musical Theatre Division at the West Central NATS Regional Singing Competition, that will be held in Lincoln Nov. 2-3.
