Creighton No. 1 in National Ranking for Midwest Region

The annual U.S. News & World Report magazine’s college rankings are out – and for the 10th year in a row, Creighton University is the No.1 Midwest Regional university. It is the 15th time in 16 years that Creighton University has ranked No. 1 in “America’s Best Colleges” edition.

Creighton for the sixth time was also recognized as No. 1 in the Midwest region as a “best value” university for giving students the best return on their tuition investment. The University was also given a nod for its commitment to student success, a ranking which acknowledges schools who understand the importance of accepting students who possess a well-rounded high school experience. Creighton’s undergraduate profile demonstrates that Creighton students were very involved in extracurricular and community activities during their high school years.

In another ranking category, Creighton was honored by college administrators who identified institutions that they thought have made the most promising and innovative changes in the areas of academics, student life, campus or facilities.

“Creighton takes great pride in the national recognitions it has received recently realizing that this data can serve as a helpful tool for families making the critical decision to find the right college. I am especially pleased that the University is being acknowledged as a best value, as we pursue academic excellence and innovation in a community dedicated to educating the entire student—mind, body and spirit,” said Timothy R. Lannon, S. J., Creighton president.

Criteria for U.S. News rankings include academic reputation and peer assessment, graduation and retention rates, faculty resources, student selectivity, financial resources and alumni giving.
