Creighton University Law Professor Sean Watts has been named Senior Fellow at the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence in Tallinn, Estonia.
This appointment recognizes Watts as a “highly accomplished and respected senior scholar or practitioner involved with a major or long-term project of the Centre.”
Watts was named Senior Fellow in recognition of his contribution to the Tallinn Manual project and commitment to continue with the Tallinn 2.0 Project. One key focus of the project is the adaption of the international laws of war to the cyber world.
A former U.S. Army officer and West Point instructor, Watts will assist the Centre in promoting its activities and building links with the wider academic and cyber defense community for a period of two years.
As there are no more than five Senior Fellows serving at any given time, the selection of Watts from the global pool of candidates is a significant honor.
