Predicted snowy weather means rescheduling some Founders Week events

The winter storm predicted to hit Omaha late Monday has necessitated the rescheduling of some events connected to Creighton University’s Founders Week celebration.

The Founders Day Convocation and Awards Recognition has been moved to Thursday, Feb. 4 at 3:30 p.m., in the Hixson-Lied Auditorium at the Harper Center.

The College of Arts and Sciences Annual Awards event will be held on Thursday, Feb. 11 at 3:30 p.m., in the Skutt Ballroom. Rather than a luncheon, the event will now be a reception.

The Heider College of Business Founders Week Luncheon has been rescheduled for Thursday, Feb. 11 at 12:30 p.m. The luncheon will take place in Room 3023 of the Harper Center.

The artist talk scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 4, by Holly Schapker about her Lied Art Gallery exhibition, ADSUM: Contemporary Paintings on Ignatian Spirituality, is cancelled. A reception slated to follow the talk at the Lied Education Center for the Arts will still take place, running from 4 to 7 p.m.

The Founders Feast scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 3, has been relocated and will be served at the Harper, Becker and Bradeis dining halls during normal dining hours for each respective dining hall.

All other events not listed here, including the Interfaith Prayer Service at St. John's Church slated for Wednesday, Feb. 3 at 3:30 p.m., will take place as scheduled.

This post will be updated as more information becomes available.
