McGaha named chair of Family Medicine at Creighton

Amy McGahaAmy McGaha, MD has been named chair of family medicine in the Creighton University School of Medicine, effective Oct. 1.

McGaha is a professor in the department and current director of the family medicine residency program. A Creighton faculty member since 2011, she currently serves on the regional board of CHI Health and the combined CUMC Bergan Medical Executive Committee. McGaha has also served on national committees for the American Academy of Family Practice and the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine.

Prior to joining Creighton’s faculty, McGaha was the assistant director for medical education for the American Academy of Family Practice.

McGaha earned her MD from the University of Missouri School of Medicine, and completed her residency in Tallahassee, Florida.
