Delivery Service

In a pinch with no time to visit the Library? If there is a reason keeping you from coming to us, then let us know. We will pull, check out, and inter-campus mail items to you.

You can submit your delivery request through JaySearch. Simply identify the item you want, sign in with your Creighton netID, and click Get It to see request options, including personal delivery to your work address. We will put the item in inter-campus mail within 24 hours (M-F).

Please note that the Reinert-Alumni Library's delivery service applies only to items already in our collection. The following cautions also apply:

  • We are unable to mail oversized or extremely heavy items.
  • We may be unable to fill your request if you have overdue items or fines.
  • Please limit your request to five items or less.
  • If returning items via campus mail, be sure to factor in transit time to meet the due date.

Interlibrary Loan Services

Interlibrary loan is a service in which books and articles not available at Creighton can be obtained from another library. Current Creighton University students, faculty, and staff are eligible for interlibrary loan services at no cost.
What material can be requested?
Any item can be requested if it is not already available at one of our libraries. We cannot borrow textbooks, however, and many libraries do not loan certain items such as DVDs, dissertations, or the complete issue of a journal.

How long does it take?

Most articles arrive in 4-6 days and most books arrive in 8-10 days. Turnaround depends upon the nature of the material requested and the geographic location of the lending library.

Where do I pick up items when they arrive?

You will be notified by email when the books or other returnable items you have requested are available. These items may be picked up at the library service desk. Articles are sent to you via email as a PDF file. Returnable materials NOT picked up within 10 days will be returned to the lending library.

Are there any restrictions?

The lending library determines the conditions of the loan, including the due date. Books must be renewed or returned (in good condition) by the date indicated, or we will block privileges just as we do with our own overdue books.
