What excited you most about choosing Creighton as your university?
Both of my sisters graduated from Creighton, and I wanted to demonstrate I worked hard for my degree by going to a university that is known for excellence.
What opportunities at Creighton have made your experience unique and valuable?
I have had flexibility to design my college experience the way that worked best for me. I could take online classes to balance a full-time school schedule with full-time employment as a project manager, being a full-time single parent, running a youth program and serving on the board of a non-profit organization. But if I wanted to take a class on campus, I had the flexibility to do that as well. It allowed me to feel more connected to the university.
What do you think sets Creighton apart from other universities?
Creighton has a reputation as an elite university. But the Jesuit teachings set Creighton further apart. Creighton teaches students more than what a regular college education provides, because it instills values and an energy to go out and set the world on fire.
From your experience, what do you think are Creighton’s strengths in preparing students for their future?
Creighton’s advisers are simply amazing. They spend individual time and ensure that planning each semester and registering is a breeze. The Leadership program is applicable to the real world and teaches students how to be a servant-based leaders, which is the emerging model for leadership in today’s corporations.
