At Creighton University, 35% of undergraduate students are active in one of our fraternities or sororities. This vibrant community of service-oriented learners is deeply engaged in student life. The Inter-Fraternity and Panhellenic Councils meet prospective sophomore, junior, and senior members in both fall and spring. Freshmen wait to participate in recruitment until their spring semester so new students can acclimate to campus life before committing to a fraternity or sorority.

To engage in the recruitment process, students must meet the following requirements:

  • Full-time Creighton student (completed at least 12 credits by January)
  • Minimum 2.5 GPA
  • Good judicial standing with Creighton

Why join a fraternity or sorority at Creighton?

The six pillars of Fraternity and Sorority Life at Creighton are scholarship, leadership, social development, service, faith, and lifelong brotherhood and sisterhood. Through this community, students find avenues to their best selves.

What are the benefits of joining a fraternity or sorority?

In keeping with the Jesuit tradition of seeking excellence, Fraternity and Sorority Life offers the opportunity to develop the whole person. Students gain leadership opportunities, academic support, and even alumni opportunities in their organization’s undergraduate chapter or international office.

Will joining a fraternity or sorority affect my student’s academics?

Yes, likely in a positive manner. The Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL) GPA as a whole is higher than the average campus GPA. Outstanding academic achievement is stressed in each FSL chapter.

Are members of fraternities and sororities involved in other campus activities?

Currently, members of fraternities and sororities are represented among Creighton Students Union, Student Orientation Leaders, Residence Advisors, Inter-Residence Hall Government, sports clubs, Campus Ministry, and more. Campus leadership is a hallmark of FSL involvement.

What is my role as a parent?

Ask questions and help your student decide which chapter will be best for him or her. Then, participate in Parent Weekend activities, visit chapter events, or join the chapter’s Parent Chapter. Creighton welcomes parent involvement in Fraternity and Sorority Life.
