Five Things We Love About Creighton: Welcome Week Edition

While incoming freshmen are anticipating move-in, Creighton University students have been preparing to welcome the new Bluejays to Omaha.

Members of the team shared five things they love about Creighton ahead of move-in.

Isabella Powers, Sacramento, California

Isabella Powers

Junior, Health Administration and Policy on the premed track

“I love how the professors truly care about your education and will make time to meet with you outside of office hours. Last year I had one professor meet with me at 7 a.m.! They are very willing to help.”

Nick Goodenow, Okoboji, Iowa

Nick Goodenow

Junior, History and Secondary Education

“Creighton is extremely committed to the Jesuit values. I think magis is the one that inspires me the most because Creighton pushes its students to find more out of their education. The mission is extremely important.”

Mary-Catherine Kirk, Lone Tree, Colorado

Mary-Catherine Kirk

Junior, Business Intelligence & Analytics and Marketing

“The community, and how you can see friendly faces walk up and down the mall wherever you go. You can see a bunch of the same people, but also see a lot of other people you haven’t met before. There are opportunities to meet a lot of people.”

Grace Kelly, Omaha, Nebraska

Grace Kelly

Junior, Exercise Science

“My favorite thing about Creighton is the exercise science department because all the professors are always willing to go the extra mile for you. And I love the curriculum; I get to learn about the human body and the amazing things it can do.”

Nick Hirner, Kansas City, Missouri

Nick Hirner

Senior, Accounting

“I love Creighton athletics – soccer games, volleyball games, basketball games…if you use your student pass, you can get free tickets to all conference games. Every fall, I love going to Creighton soccer games, and I have fun memories standing in line with my friends last New Year’s Eve for the men’s basketball game. It’s super fun, great to see everybody and support the teams. Go Bluejays!”
