Becky Nickerson, Director

Becky NickersonBecky is a native of Council Bluffs, Iowa and received her Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from the University of Iowa. She received her Master's Degree in Counselor Education at Creighton University where she was inducted into Alpha Sigma Nu, a Jesuit Honor Society.

After working for the Area Education Agency with at-risk students in the K-12 public school setting, Becky came to Creighton in 2004, and worked 4 1/2 years in the office of Health Sciences-Multicultural and Community Affairs (HS-MACA). She received Creighton University's Rookie of the Year award in 2005. She moved to the Assistant Director position in the Office of Multicultural Affairs in November 2008. In 2017, Becky became the first female director of the newly renamed Creighton Intercultural Center.

At Creighton, Becky is involved with several Division of Student Life initiatives as well as many university-wide committees. She is also an instructor for the College of Professional Studies course entitled Privilege, Power, and Difference.
