General Education Development (GED) & Adult Basic Education (ABE)

General Educational Development (GED)

Classes are Monday-Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

EOC staff will assist persons seeking information or admission into our GED/ABE-Brush-Up classes. GED classes are for those persons who are seeking to obtain their high school equivalency diploma. We provide the tools to prepare students to take and pass their General Education Development test (GED). Classes are customized for each student. All classes are free of charge. Individuals must complete a GED orientation prior to being enrolled into the program.

English Second Language (ESL)

Classes are Monday-Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Non-credit ESL courses are intended for literacy level, non-English speaking students. The classes focus on basic English and survival English skills. Students who can already communicate in English should consider continuing to improve their English speaking and writing skills by enrolling in ESL courses.

Adult Basic Education (ABE) Brush-Up Services

Individuals who have previously acquired their high school diploma may obtain additional tutoring to brush up or enhance their educational skills. Also, many colleges and universities require that individuals take placement exams prior to allowing students to enroll into courses. Having the ability to enhance your educational skills can be a determining factor in which courses an individual will be able to enroll in. The ABE/ Brush up tutoring sessions are currently being offered by appointment after the student has had an initial assessment conducted.

Computer Lab

The EOC is sensitive to peak usage hours of the Lab and will notify participants if Lab is unavailable. The stations are to remain "as is". No software, browser plug-ins, or specific settings should be added or changed.
