Admitted Undergraduate Students
We Can’t Wait to See You!
Congratulations on being admitted to Creighton! To save your spot, log in to your student portal to submit your deposit. Learn more about next steps below.
Finalizing Your Decision
The college decision deadline for undergraduates is May 1, but you can commit at any time, and we encourage you to save your spot at Creighton!
As you narrow your list, you can let schools know if they aren't on your radar anymore. Submitting a deposit states your intent to enroll at that school. Institutions reserve the right to rescind an offer of admission if they find you’ve made a double deposit.
Creighton’s undergraduate deposit is $400. ($350 goes toward tuition, and $50 is for the housing application fee.) Like most colleges, Creighton’s fee is non-refundable.
If you have questions about submitting your deposit, contact your admissions counselor.

Transferring College Credits to Creighton
Creighton makes it easy for admitted transfer students with sufficiently high grades (C or higher) earned at an accredited post-secondary institution to transfer credit.
To initiate the credit-transference process, please send all of your official college and/or university transcripts electronically. The college to which you apply — Arts and Sciences, Heider College of Business or Nursing — determines how each specific course transfers.
A maximum of 80 credit hours can be transferred toward a Creighton degree. To graduate from Creighton, you must complete at least 48 credit hours at Creighton.
Browse below to learn about each college’s transference process. We encourage you to get in touch with the transfer counselor for your intended college.
- College of Arts and Sciences. This college reviews transfer credits after the student is accepted to Creighton. For more information, please get in touch with our Assistant Dean, Gerry Kuhlman:
- gkuhlman@creighton.edu
- 402.280.4012
- Heider College of Business. The credit-transference evaluation occurs during the college application review process for the Heider College of Business. For more information, please get in touch with our Assistant Dean, Charisse Williams:
- Email: cwilliams@creighton.edu
- Phone: 402.280.2344
- College of Nursing. Due to our direct-entry Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, our traditional BSN nursing program is generally full with incoming freshmen; therefore, we do not have space for incoming transfer students. We offer a one-year accelerated bachelor’s of science in nursing (ABSN) program for students who have previously earned a bachelor’s degree in another discipline. If you’d like more information about the accelerated Nursing program, please email our recruitment team in the College of Nursing at nursing@creighton.edu.
Applying College Credits from High School
Many students come to Creighton with possible college credit to be applied to their Creighton degree. Creighton University awards university credit for certain scores on college-level examinations such as Advanced Placement (AP) exams, Cambridge International A-Level exams, College Level Examination Program (CLEP) exams, DANTES Standardized Subject Test (DSST) exams, and International Baccalaureate (IB) exams.
However, in accordance with the university Transfer Credit Policy, university credit will not be awarded for examinations covering remedial knowledge and skills that students should have acquired in high school.
Exam credit may be awarded for a specific Creighton University course or for elective credit. Exam credit may be awarded for a specific Creighton University course at the introductory level provided that the specific course does not have a course prerequisite that the student has not yet satisfied. In other cases, elective credit may be awarded according to the most current standards published by the university. Creighton University will award up to a total of 32 hours of exam credit to any given student. For more information, please consult your Dean’s Office.
(AP) Credit Guidelines
Creighton is proud to award credit for sufficiently high:
- AP exam scores as offered by the College Entrance Examination Board (CEEB)
- College Level Examination Program (CLEP) exam scores
- Advanced International Certificate of Education (AICE) A-level grades as offered by Cambridge University
- International Baccalaureate (IB) IB Higher Level (HL) exams
Please review the exams we accept and the corresponding benchmarks for each:
- AP Exam Acceptance and Benchmarks. To verify your AP scores, you must request that the CEEB send them directly to Creighton University via our college code, 6121. To decline AP credit, please download the Undergraduate Request to Decline Credit form and follow the instructions given.
- CLEP Exam Acceptance and Benchmarks. To verify your CLEP scores, you must request that CLEP send them directly to Creighton University via our college code, 6121.
- AICE Exam Acceptance and Benchmarks. Please contact us for instructions on how to verify your AICE A-level grades.
- IB Exam Acceptance and Benchmarks. Creighton will award up to 30 credit hours for sufficiently high IB HL exams. Please contact us [Link to new Admissions contact page.] for instructions on how to verify your IB credit.
College Credits Awarded by an Accredited Institution
College credits taken during high school will transfer to Creighton provided the student took the course through an accredited institution and passed with a grade of “C” or better. The Dean’s Office of the student’s college will review the course description of these classes and determine if it matches up to the requirements for a class at Creighton.
To be eligible for credit, you must request that the awarding institution send your official transcript directly to the Creighton college to which you are applying.
If the descriptions match, the student will receive the credit for that class at Creighton. If the descriptions don’t match, the credit will still likely come in but as elective credit. College credits are reviewed after the May 1st deadline for enrolling freshmen. Students should contact an admissions counselor with any additional questions.
