Welcome,
The Center for Promoting Health and Health Equality (CPHHE) is a community/university collaboration to improve health outcomes in Omaha and the region. Our partners are community leaders who represent key organizations and multidisciplinary Creighton University faculty with expertise in health care, health care research and education. Together we aim to promote health and reduce health disparities in Nebraska populations.
CPHHE partners collaborate to identify community needs for promoting health equality and develop strategies to meet those needs. Initially identified community needs include the areas of cancer, violence, heart health (cardiovascular), diabetes, and HIV/AIDS.
An example CPHHE project targets hereditary cancer of the prostate, breast and colorectum. Through assistance of the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services’ Nebraska Tumor Registry, the project is soliciting the participation of African Americans in Nebraska in a study of familial cancers.
